MESHACK YEBEI , the slain ICC witness was BENSOUDA’s and not RUTO’s

Slain International Criminal Court (ICC) witness, Meshack Yebei, was murdered because he was an ICC witness in the case facing Deputy President, William Ruto.

Making the revelations, the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, Ken Wafula, dismissed claims that Yebei was  lined up to testify in favour of Ruto.

Wafula insisted that Yebei was among 10 other witnesses who had presented their bank statements to the ICC to prove that they had received bribes from Ruto to recant their testimonies.

“The deceased was eliminated by a hit squad out to wipe out all witnesses in the current case,” Wafula claimed.

On Sunday, Kapseret MP, Oscar Sudi, told one of the local dailies that the dead man had been set to testify for the defence in Ruto’s ICC case.

“He was our witness and we want police to investigate what happened. We want to know the truth,” Sudi said.

But Wafula accused Sudi of spreading falsehood and suggested that the said lawmaker be investigated.

“We want proper investigations into the killing. Those who are making statements they know to be wrong should be investigated,” said Wafula.
